VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - June 16th - 19th
Power Lab!.........Discovering Jesus’Miraculous Power
Calling all scientists, all professors, all lab assistants, all curious, fun-loving friends and families of Oak Knoll! Get ready – this summer we will transform Oak Knoll into an eye-popping, high energy, power lab where we will immerse ourselves in the miraculous power of Jesus Christ.
There will be drama, there will be games, there will be time for teaching and thinking about Jesus. We will make crazy test tube treats and wonderful wacky crafts and projects. We will sing, we will dance, we will make new friends, and we will deepen relationships with old friends. Above all, we will all grow closer to Jesus.
This year the focus will be on discovering and embracing the power of Jesus. Each day we will focus on a Bible story and “Power Bible Verse” that emphasize the miracles of Jesus. Wow! Jesus healed ten lepers! Zap! Jesus gave sight to the blind man! Bam! Jesus gave Peter the power to walk on water! Pow! Jesus died and came back to life! Zing! The Holy Spirit comes at Pentecost!
Not only will we learn about the power of Jesus, but also that Jesus shares His power with us. We will see that Jesus gives us the power to be thankful, the power to help others, the power to be brave, the power to live forever, and the power to tell others about God.
So grab a lab coat and a pair of safety glass and be sure to join us! Volunteer as a professor, a lab assistant, or a crew leader! We’ll have tons of fun and we’ll share the power of Jesus in new and compelling ways.

Intergenerational Mission Trip – Wilderness Canoe Base June 23rd – 27th
Tom Denny is heading up a group of youth and adults to help with the rebuilding of Wilderness Canoe Base after the Ham Lake Fire. This is a phenomenal chance to put your hand print on a ministry in a whole new way. Groups will be lead in morning devotions and evening faith conversations. During the day there will be lots of opportunities for service projects and work. You won’t be working all the time but have a chance to Rock Climb, spend an overnight on trail, swim, sit quiet and play games with your friends. You don’t have to bring any of your own tools just an eager attitude, lots of energy and a heart to serve future generations who will come to these islands. The cost is $225 per person. We will leave at 5:15 AM on Monday and arrive back at Oak Knoll around 8:30 PM on Friday. For more information contact Tom Denny. tdenny@azonal.com or 952-475-2740
High School Mission Trip – Quad Cities July 20th – 25th
Pastor Michele Abbott is heading up a group of 10 youth to help love and serve the people of the Quad Cities for Jesus sake. This trip is headed down the Mississippi river to the boarder of Iowa and Illinois. There are countless physical and spiritual needs in communities today – in your own backyard, across the country, in big cities, on Reservations, in small towns and across borders. Short term missions are a means to visualize needs in other communities and bring that recognition back to serve in your own home. After a week spent in service, you will leave transformed from the love, strength and resilience you find in those you meet. Short term missions are often more life changing and impacting for participants than those you came to serve! (Youthworks website) The cost is $300 per person. We will be leave at 9:30 AM on Sunday and arrive back at Oak Knoll at 3:00 PM on Friday. Contact Pastor Michele Abbott at pastor.michele@oklutheran.org or 763-550-1226
Canoe Trips – Wilderness Canoe Base – July 26th – Aug 1st

Wilderness canoe trips are an incredible journey; an opportunity to learn and reflect on God’s creation, strengthen faith, build teamwork and confidence and come away with a better understanding of how precious this world is. Cost is $400 per person. We will leave at 5:15 AM on Saturday and arrive back at Oak Knoll around 8:30 PM on Friday. Contact Dave Sanderson at david.sanderson@allina.com or 612-202-5097

Amity Update
We are still offering time for kids from the community and Oak Knoll to come to the church on Sundays from 1-3pm. In this time we play games, do arts and crafts, teach life lessons, and more.
This time is really just giving the kids something they can count on week after week. They can count on what we’re doing for fun, friendship, lessons, meaning, and relationship-building.
We hope that in the future we can occasionally do bigger things, such as summer camp or field trips. As it gets closer to spring time and the weather will allow for this, we might consider taking the kids to the park to play sports and run around more. We are attempting to contact other churches in order to motivate their high school groups to start a mission like we have. These plans for the future will not only give the kids more to do, and more to get excited about, but it will also reaffirm our purpose of being there for the kids as something they can always depend on. We hope to reach more kids in the near future!
Thank you for your support and love! ~Amity Kids Club
